A new airport will soon serve the capital city of Tegucigalpa. It will be located on the old Palmerola air base located some 40 miles north of Tegucigalpa. This region is known as the Valle de Comayagua.

Palmerola is the second airport serving the city the first and oldest one being Toncontin International Airport.
